
A man who was wanted out of Omaha died after a standoff with U.S. Marshals and county deputies out of Mississippi.According to the Rankin County Sheriff's Department, deputies were called to help marshals serve a warrant at a residence in Brandon, Mississippi.The arrest warrant was for a person who was wanted on a charge of aggravated assault with a firearm out of Omaha.Mississippi deputies said when the marshals tried to serve the warrant, the suspect started firing shots from inside the residence before barricading himself inside.The suspect later fired more rounds at law enforcement during the standoff.About three hours after the start of the incident, Mississippi authorities said they heard a singular gunshot from inside the home, and when they were unable to get a response, they went inside. RCSD said authorities found the suspect suffering from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.Omaha police said they have been searching for Ricardo Kirk for a felony assault case and were notified of the standoff on Friday.
