Man Taken To Concord Hospital After Shooting Himself In the Leg
CONCORD, NH — A man was taken to the hospital on Monday night after reportedly shooting himself in the leg.
Around 9:45 p.m., police dispatch received a call from an apartment on Garvins Falls Road with a man claiming he shot himself with a .22 caliber long rifle. The caller told dispatch that, for officer safety, the gun was set aside and away from him.
Concord fire and rescue teams were also sent to the building.
Several officers arrived at the scene and requested dispatch, who was still speaking with the man, to unlock the door. One officer said, if they needed to, they could knock down the door. Dispatch said the caller told them he would be at the door soon.
An officer confirmed the gunshot wound and said the man, who was in his late 50s, appeared to be OK for now.
Around 10 p.m., EMTs took the man to the hospital.
News 603 posted a video on Facebook.
One officer told another that they might need the evidence technician's truck at the apartment building.
Later, an officer said the man agreed to a consent search of the apartment.
