Man Reports Someone Pointed 'What Appeared To Be A Weapon' At Him In Shirley 'Road Rage' Incident: Police

SHIRLEY, NY — A man reported having someone point "what appeared to be a weapon" at him in a "road rage" incident on William Floyd Parkway in Shirley on Tuesday, Suffolk police said.

Officers from the 7th Precinct were called to the scene just before 3 p.m. after a man reported driving a 2024 Nissan northbound on the parkway when he cut in front of a sedan near the North Service Road, according to police.

A passenger in the sedan then flashed "what appeared to be a weapon" and pointed it at the man before speeding away, police said. It is not clear what kind of weapon was displayed.

There were no injuries reported, according to police.

No arrests have been made.

Further details were not immediately available.

It was one of two road rage incidents reported in Suffolk on Tuesday.
