Man found dead on Fresno County road with gunshot wound identified
Fresno County deputies have identified the man who was found dead on the side of Old Aurberry Road in Fresno County.

Investigators identified the man as 43-year-old Joie Carrell of Fresno.
Deputies say they received a call of a person suffering from a gunshot wound around 11:30 a.m. Friday.
Nearly an hour after the call, a CHP officer assisting Fresno County deputies made his way to Old Auberry Road and found a person, now known as Carrell, dead on the side of the road.
Authorities say based on the circumstances, homicide detectives were called to the scene and began an investigation.
Details on how Carrell was shot are not being released and no suspect or motive was revealed.
The investigation is ongoing.
