Man accused of trying to run over Fresno police officer
A man is behind bars after being accused of trying to run over a Fresno police officer.
Officials say 29-year-old Daniel Hernandez intentionally drove his vehicle toward an officer making a traffic stop at about 1:30 am Friday at Marks and Belmont.
The officer says he noticed the vehicle traveling in his direction.
The officer jumped over the hood of the car that he pulled over and caught up with the suspect vehicle.
The driver was eventually pulled over at an apartment complex on McKinley Avenue.
Hernandez and a passenger were removed from the car.
Officers say Hernandez was intoxicated and arrested for DUI, reckless driving or multiple other charges.
