Loved ones remember store clerk shot and killed at Goshen gas station four years ago

It's been four years since 50-year-old Rick Harris was shot and killed at the convenience store he was working at in Goshen.

"Four years and we are not gonna give up, his family, friends and myself included, we're not gonna give up. We're gonna continue to fight this. It may have gotten a little cold, unfortunately, but I believe... I still believe in my heart of hearts," says Rick's childhood friend, Katrina King.

Risk was covering a shift as a store clerk on September 19, 2021, when two men with masks walked into the gas station demanding all the money in the cash register.

The Tulare County Sheriff's Office says Rick complied, then the men shot him.

Rick called 9-1-1, but died at the scene.

"It was his birthday and someone called out and he went in like the Rick that we love and was brutally shot after doing everything they told him to do. Everything he did complied but that wasn't enough," explains Katrina.

Katrina had been friends with Rick since they were kids in the 80s.

Years without him have been difficult, and despite losing other friends, not knowing the reason for Rick's killing makes it hard to grieve.

"Miserable. Because you can't, it just doesn't stop, it doesn't go away," expresses Katrina.

The Tulare County Sheriff's Office says there have been no new leads on the case but they continue to investigate.

"But to us and his family, and his friends, he's not just another statistic. He's not just another number. He is somebody that is drastically missed every year now from his family. Christmas, Thanksgiving, birthdays," expresses Katrina.

There is still a $10,000 reward for anyone who gives information leading to an arrest. If you have any details, you can reach the Tulare County Sheriff's Office.
