A local nonprofit is calling attention to the importance of the National Day of Racial Healing on Tuesday.
The day is marked annually on the Tuesday following Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Stomp Out Bullying says the day was created by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation in 2017 and is an "opportunity to bring all people together in their common humanity and inspire collective action from the effects of racism to create a more just and unbiased world."
The group says everyone can bring racial healing into their homes, communities and institutions.
"Through racial healing, we can all forge deep, meaningful relationships, lay the groundwork to transform broken systems, and create a world in which, together, we are a new force for positive change," the organization said.
