A person of interest is in custody after a man was critically injured in an argument-turned-shooting at a Southwest Side liquor store on Sunday evening, Chicago police said.
Police said the shooting happened in the Little Village neighborhood's 3900-block of West Ogden Avenue around 8:15 p.m.
A 35-year-old man walked into the store and became involved in an argument with another man, 39, police said.
At one point, the 39-year-old pulled out a handgun and fired it twice, striking the 35-year-old in the chest and stomach, according to police.
The victim took himself to Mt. Sinai hospital in critical condition.
Responding officers took a person of interest in to custody and recovered a weapon from the scene.
Area detectives are investigating, and charges are pending.
