
Previous coverage in the video aboveThe Lancaster County Attorney's Office announced it will not be filing charges in the death of 24-year-old Jarell Wheeler.According to a news release from the attorney's office, Wheeler was shot and killed in the area of 13th and E streets in Lincoln on Dec. 4.Lincoln police arrested Emanuel Greenwalt-Claypool, 23, for second-degree murder, use of a firearm to commit a felony, and second-degree assault.PREVIOUS COVERAGE: Lincoln police arrest 23-year-old accused of killing man, injuring anotherOn Tuesday, the attorney's office said it will not be charging Greenwalt-Claypool because he acted in self-defense."Under Nebraska law, the use of deadly force can only be justifiable if the actor had a reasonable belief that such force was necessary under the totality of the circumstances to protect himself against death or serious bodily harm," said the news release.The attorney's office said the investigation, so far, revealed Greenwalt-Claypool saw Wheeler, who was his brother, inside the gas station.
