LA shooting: Person killed, suspect in custody after shooting in downtown
A person was shot and killed in downtown Los Angeles Monday afternoon, and a suspect is in custody, police say.
Los Angeles police responded to a report of shots fired at Main and 5th streets where the victim was found.
Police say a man with a gun was spotted in the area of Main and 4th when officers arrived at the scene. AIR7 footage captured the suspect appearing to hold a gun and not complying with officers' commands.
The suspect was taken into custody after police reportedly opened fire on him with less-lethal rounds. The man's condition is unclear.
A large crime scene was established in the area, where a white tent on the sidewalk appeared to be covering the victim's body.
