LA GRANGE, IL – A Westchester man exposed himself to youths last summer in downtown La Grange, near Lyons Township High School and at a park in La Grange Park, authorities said.
The 27-year-old man faces three counts of public indecency. La Grange police provided Patch with the arrest report in response to a public records request.
The La Grange incidents occurred last year on July 28 at La Grange Road and Burlington Avenue and at Cossitt and Brainard avenues across from Lyons Township High School on July 31, police said. In both instances, the man asked for directions to the La Grange theater, police said.
In the July 31 incident, one of the youths was crying when officers responded, according to the report.
On Aug. 2 in La Grange Park, officers were called to a similar incident at Memorial Park at Oak Avenue and Sherwood Road, with three 14-year-olds as victims, police said.
All the incidents occurred about 8 p.m.
Police said they were able to identify the man through surveillance footage and victims' identifications in photo lineups.
A month later, an officer knocked on the man's door two days in a row, leaving messages with people in the house. The man did not get back with police.
Police got a warrant for the man's arrest.
About a year later, on Sept. 2, the suspect turned himself in at the La Grange police station. He declined to make a statement to officers.
He was released and given a court date.
