Knife-wielding man shot by officer in Strawberry Mansion, Philadelphia police say
A man was shot during a confrontation with police officers in the Strawberry Mansion section of Philadelphia early Wednesday morning.
It happened around 3 a.m. in the 1800 block of North Bailey Street.
Officers were responding to a disturbance inside a home involving a man with a knife.
Authorities say an officer was confronted by that knife-wielding man, and the officer fired a shot, hitting the man in the chest.
The man was rushed to Temple University Hospital. We are awaiting confirmation on his condition.
The officer was not hurt.
