Jersey City police-involved shooting injures 1, shuts down streets near Bergen Avenue
One person was injured in a police-involved shooting in Jersey City Tuesday morning.
Police say the person was shot in an exchange of gunfire with police on Bergen Avenue around 1 a.m.
The person was taken to Jersey City Medical Center. Their condition is unknown at this time.
Police officers involved were checked out but did not appear injured.
A gun was recovered at the scene
Police taped off several blocks in the area as they investigated.
The shooting will be investigated by the State Attorney General's Office and the Hudson County Prosecutors Office.
