Village leaders from Broadview will speak Tuesday morning about the ongoing situation surrounding that ICE facility where Saturday's unrest took place
They'll address what they're calling the unprovoked use of chemical agents by ICE that they say has impacted residents, first responders, and protestors.They'll also address criminal investigations related to ICE activities.
The briefing starts at 11 a.m. Officials expected at the briefing include Broadview Mayor Katrina Thompson, Broadview Police Chief Thomas Mills, Broadview Police Department, acting Broadview Fire Chief Matt Martin, Broadview Fire Department, Oak Park Mayor Vicki Scaman and Forest Park Mayor Rory Hoskins
Five people are facing federal charges, accused of assaulting or resisting agents outside the ICE facility in Broadview. All appeared in court Monday.
Two are still in custody including a man who supporters say is neurodivergent.

Images captured by ABC7 on Saturday show the moments after he was arrested. The 26-year-old from Oak Park is accused of threatening to kill border patrol agents, then allegedly grabbing an agent's helmet and pulling the agent's head down as he was being arrested.
Ivery is being detained, at least until his next hearing.
