People are speaking out against the immigration enforcement surge in and around Chicago.
Hundreds of protesters marched through downtown Tuesday night.
Legal advocates are petitioning the Chief Judge to prohibit ICE from arresting people without a warrant near Cook County courthouses.
The Coalition Against the Trump Administration organizing an emergency protest, following dozens of armed federal agents spotted downtown, detaining multiple people.

"It's ridiculous that our tax dollars are going toward these types of raids," said Nick Sous with the U.S. Palestinian Community Network. "When it could be funding healthcare, housing and other issues and needs of the community here in Chicago."
"What I was learning in history class, I'm seeing it now, in the streets, with ICE detaining legal immigrants and treating them like they're nothing," said protester Mohamed Douhabi.

President Trump says the uptick in federal operations in the Chicago area is about getting "dangerous criminals off the streets."
On Monday, Illinois' Governor said the National Guard received word from DHS, requesting 100 troops to protect ICE personnel, who have frequently clashed with protesters.
The president is now raising the stakes. During a meeting with military leaders and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Trump calling Chicago an "unsafe place" that he plans to straighten out.
Governor Pritzker said he has no new information about a National Guard deployment to the Chicago area, but the state remains poised and ready to file lawsuits, if and when it happens.
