Governor JB Pritzker is set to sign two bills to boost gun safety in Illinois on Monday.
SB 8, also known as the Safe Gun Storage Act, requires gun owners to securely lock up their firearms when minors or "at risk" people are in the home.
The second bill, HB 1373, makes law enforcement agencies use a federal tracing system to track guns and help with investigations.
The signing is expected to begin at 11 a.m. in Chicago's West Loop.
