Girl hit by stray bullet fired from neighboring apartment in Del Rey, Los Angeles
An 8-year-old girl was hospitalized after she was hit by a stray bullet that was fired through the wall of her family's apartment in the Del Rey area of Los Angeles.
The incident happened Sunday afternoon along Slauson Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Police say one of the family's neighbors fired a gun, and the bullet went through the wall of that person's apartment and into the girl's unit, striking her.
She was taken into the hospital in stable condition and is expected to survive.
Officers responded to the apartment building and confiscated guns from the unit in question, the LAPD said. Nobody has been taken into custody, but detectives are questioning people.
