Garfield Park, Chicago shooting: Man found shot to death in 4000-block of West Wilcox Street, police department says

A man was found shot to death on a West Side sidewalk on Thursday night, Chicago police said.

Police said officers responded to a call about a shooting in the Garfield Park neighborhood's 4000-block of West Wilcox Street just after 10 p.m.

Officers found a 34-year-old man, who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the body, unresponsive.

The victim was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

There is no one in custody, and Area Four detectives are investigating.

Police did not immediately provide further information about the shooting.
