"Hate and violence have no place at Fresno State, or anywhere," he said in a statement.

A meeting has been scheduled for the Jewish community on campus.

This comes as multiple people were killed in a mass shooting during a Hanukkah celebration at Sydney's Bondi Beach.

Police say it was a "terrorist attack inspired by Islamic State." The suspects were a father and son.

Resources are being provided for Fresno State students if needed.
