Former Lakers player Christian Wood shoots at intruders during home invasion in Sherman Oaks
The victim involved in a shooting during a home invasion robbery Wednesday afternoon in Sherman Oaks was former Lakers forward Christian Wood, Eyewitness News has learned.
Police say the victim reported hearing a crashing sound at the rear of the property in the 14800 block of Otsego Street. Three men were seen trying to enter the home. That's when Wood allegedly fired three shots causing the suspects to flee, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
The incident was reported about 1 p.m., but the suspects fled before police arrived. There are no reports of any arrests. Police continue looking for the suspects.
LAPD officers were seen combing the front yard Wednesday for evidence as the investigation got underway.
No injuries were reported and no property was taken.
