A person was killed in a car crash caused by a suspected DUI driver Wednesday night in the Oroville East area of Butte County, the California Highway Patrol said. The crash was reported around 7:17 p.m. on Highway 162 near the intersection of Old Olive Highway. An eastbound pickup crossed lanes into oncoming traffic and struck another vehicle traveling westbound, CHP said. The driver of the westbound vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup is in custody for suspicion of driving under the influence, CHP said.
