It has been nearly a year and a half since a young man was shot and killed in Fairmount Park.
Investigators are now reaching out for help in solving this crime.
"My O'Neil was loving person. We really miss him, really miss him. I go to the cemetery every day. I can't believe my son is not here."
Donnetta Campbell is still trying to come to terms with the loss of her son, O'Neil Cumberland, who was known as OJ.
The 20-year-old was shot and killed just before 6 a.m. on Sunday, May 26th, 2024.
"It's hard on everybody, me and my mom especially," says O'Neil's sister, Lakwana Cumberland.
Cumberland was headed home with his best friend, after joining other friends in Fairmount Park.
That is when gunshots rang out on the 2000 block of Belmont Avenue.
OJ was found shot in the driver's seat of a 2013 Honda Accord.
He lived for nearly a week before succumbing to his injuries.
His best friend was also injured.
The family is hoping for justice for OJ.
"Whoever, who know anything, I'm asking you to come forward. It could be your brother or your son. I will not stop praying until my prayers are answered," says Campbell.
The family has created a loving memorial to OJ in their home while continuing to pray for answers.
A $20,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
