Police released Antoine-Williams on a promise to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on May 7.
"This incident serves as an important reminder that firearms must always be handled with the utmost care and attention," Wellington said. "We urge all gun owners to follow proper safety protocols, including unloading firearms before cleaning, securing them when not in use, and ensuring they are always kept out of reach of children. Safe practices help prevent accidents and protect everyone in the home."
