"As they approached the light, the male yelled at her, reached his hand out the window and fired a single shot," said Capt. Mark D'Esposito of the Galloway Township Police Department.

According to court documents, the woman told police she had her turn signal on and was trying to merge when the suspect's vehicle cut her off. When they reached the light, she said Heinz cursed at her and threatened to kill her before pulling out a gun and firing.

Responding officers found the victim with a wound to her upper nose.

"Fortunately, it didn't look like it caught anything major, and she was able to maintain consciousness and speak to our officers. We're very grateful she's okay," D'Esposito said.

Heinz allegedly fled the scene and ended up on the Stockton University campus, prompting a lockdown. He was later taken into custody.

Police say surveillance video shows Heinz holding a handgun minutes after the shooting.

According to his IMDb profile, Heinz has had several minor roles in movies, TV shows, and the Resident Evil video game series.

He is scheduled to appear in court again on Oct. 31.
