Drive-by Chicago shooting critically injures 2 women on South Cicero Avenue in South Austin: CPD

Two women were shot and critically injured Wednesday night on Chicago's West Side, Chicago police said.

The women were outside just before 9:15 p.m. in the 100-block of South Cicero Avenue in South Austin when an SUV drove by, and someone shot at them, police said.

A 49-year-old woman was shot in the face and chest, and taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital in critical condition. A 38-year-old woman was shot multiple times, and also taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital in critical condition.

There is no one in custody, and Area Four detectives are investigating.

Chicago police did not immediately provide any information about a possible suspect or suspects.
