Des Plaines man Raymond Marshall guilty to Bridgeport armed robbery, attempted kidnapping charges on Morgan Street dropped

A Des Plaines man pleaded guilty to an aggravated robbery in Chicago, court documents show.

Raymond Marshall, 34, was originally charged with armed robbery and one count of attempted kidnapping.

The crime happened in October 2023 in the 3600-block of South Morgan Street.

Chicago police said three masked suspects approached a 35-year-old victim while as he was unloading items in his garage and aimed a gun at his head, prosecutors said.

The suspects then beat him, put restraints on him and tried to force him into a vehicle.

The victim was also tased and his phone was stolen. One of the suspects was impersonating a police officer, prosecutors said.

Nearly two years after the crime, Marshall's attempted kidnapping charge was dropped.

He pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery. He was sentenced to five years in IDOC. He will be given credit for the nearly two years he already served.
