It has been a year and a half since a man was gunned down in West Philadelphia. Now, as leads run cold, his family is seeking the public's help in getting justice.
Thelma Butler is struggling to come to terms with the death of her son, Darryl Albany.
"This is so hard, the family is going through a tough time," says Butler.
The 34-year-old man was gunned down on the 500 block of North 53rd Street in West Philadelphia on April 1, 2024.
He died from his injuries five days later, on his daughter's birthday.
"I don't know what happened, why anybody would do that," says Butler.
Police say someone in a white Hyundai with California tags dropped Albany off at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center and then left.
Albany left behind two daughters and a son.
His mother says they miss him every single day.
"I would love and appreciate if anyone know about what happened, please come forward." says Butler. "Help us with our closure, his whole family, because he is very missed."
There is a $20,000 reward being offered for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in this case.
