Community members are responding to a weekend shooting that left four injured. KETV spoke with Theresa Negron with YouTurn. She says Omaha is relatively safe, but incidents like this can cause uneasiness. All four shooting victims walked into local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, Responding officers located a shooting scene in a parking lot near 42nd and Bedford Avenue, close to the J-N-J Grocery Store. Negron says this isn't the first shooting that's happened in that area, so YouTurn is looking into what may be driving these incidents. They're speaking with business owners and neighbors in the area, trying to get a better idea of what's happening in the neighborhood. Ultimately, they're hoping they can get in front of the issue and prevent any more violence from happening."We want to be able to go to the store, talk to our friends in a parking lot in my front yard, whatever the case may be, without violence occurring in their neighborhood," said Negron. Police are still working to identify any suspects. If you have information, call Crimestoppers at 402-444-STOP.
