Community members take to the streets to protest immigration raid at Omaha plant

Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents raided a south Omaha plant on Tuesday.According to Congressman Don Bacon, roughly 80 people were taken into custody from Gleen Valley Foods after ICE served a warrant for stolen identities.What we know: Immigration raid reported at plant in OmahaThe Omaha community gathered near 32nd and L streets to protest the events of the morning.At the protest, community leaders were handing out pamphlets from the Heartland Workers Center. Those pamphlets provide information in both English and Spanish about people's rights and creating family safety plans.KETV NewsWatch 7 spoke with a man who was at this protest.He said both of his parents work at the business that was raided Tuesday morning. Many people at the protest had similar stories, and community members of all ages came to show support for their friends, family and neighbors.
