
A Chico man has been sentenced to two years of probation for a hate crime after vandalizing a reporter's camera and using racial slurs outside the Elks Lodge in Chico last September.The Butte County District Attorney's Office said Kiano Saechao was found guilty of the crime. During his probation, Saechao must complete community service and pay $2,200 in restitution. His sentence also included jail time, but he was released after serving 106 days in the Butte County Jail while awaiting trial.
