Chicago shooting, today: Woman shot multiple times in drive-by shooting on Paulina Street in Illinois Medical District, police say

Chicago police are investigating a shooting that left a woman with critical injuries on Monday morning in the Illinois Medical District.

The shooting happened at about 5:24 a.m. in the 600-block of S. Paulina Street, Chicago police said.

A 23-year-old woman was parked outside when a dark-colored sedan approached, police said.

Someone inside the car started to shoot at the victim, police said.

The woman was shot multiple times throughout the body. She was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital in critical condition, police said.
