Chicago shooting, today: Man critically hurt in Ashburn shooting on 82nd Street, police say weapon recovered

A man was found shot in the head in a Jeep on Wednesday on Chicago's Southwest Side, police said.

The shooting happened at about 2:16 a.m. in the 3700 Block of W. 82nd Street, Chicago police said.

Police said they found a man shot inside a red Jeep, which had crashed into a parked car.

The man had a gunshot wound to the head. He was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.

A witness told police they saw two male suspects got out of the Jeep.

CPD found one of the male suspects and recovered a weapon.

It was unclear if that man would face any charges.

No other information was available.
