Chicago shooting, today: 1 hurt in I-94 expressway shooting near CTA Red Line 95th Street Station, Illinois State Police say

A person on a CTA train was injured after gunfire from vehicles on the I-94 expressway on the city's South Side hit a train window on Sunday, Chicago police said.

Illinois State Police said the shooting happened on the northbound lanes of I-94 near the CTA Red Line 95th Street Station at about 8:47 a.m.

Offenders in three vehicles were shooting firearms while traveling on the expressway, CPD said.

Police said a 46-year-old man on a CTA train was injured by broken glass after a bullet hit a train window. He was taken to a hospital in good condition.

Video captured by ABC7 showed the damaged window of the train.

The CTA Red Line train was stopped at the 95th Street Station. The CTA said there was police activity.
