Chicago shooting on West End Avenue in West Garfield Park kills teen boy, CPD says

A 16-year-old boy was shot and killed Tuesday afternoon on Chicago's West Side, Chicago police said.

The teen was near the sidewalk in the 4100-block of West West End Avenue in West Garfield Park about 2:30 p.m., when he was shot multiple times, police said.

The boy was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where he died, CPD said.

No one is in custody, and area detectives are investigating.

Police are investigating the shooting as a homicide.

They did not immediately provide any additional information about what led up to the shooting, and the boy has not yet been publicly identified.
