Chicago shooting: 25-year-old woman shot, killed while walking in South Side alley on South Harvard Avenue, police say

A 25-year-old woman died after being shot while walking in an alley Friday evening on the city's South Side.

The shooting happened around 5:20 p.m. in the 8000 block of South Harvard Avenue, Chicago police said.

The victim was "walking in the alley when she heard a loud noise and realized she had been shot," CPD said.

The 25-year-old woman was shot in the head. She was taken to a hospital, where she was later pronounced dead, police said. Her identity was not yet known.

No arrests have been made as Chicago police continue to investigate.
