Chicago police warn of armed robber using Facebook Marketplace listings for Air Jordan shoes to lure victims in Morgan Park

Chicago police have issued a warning about a string of armed robberies in the Morgan Park neighborhood.

Police said there have been six incidents, the two most recent taking place last night on West Monterey and South Ashland.

In all the incidents, the alleged robber, who goes by the moniker, Serving Best Deals, responded to a Facebook Marketplace post listing Nike or Jordan brand shoes for sale.

During the meetings, the armed man threatened the victims with a gun and stole the shoes.

The robberies took place in:
-1700-block of West Steuben on December 3, 2025 at 1:30 p.m.,
-1700-block of West Edmaire on December 4, 2025 at 4:15 p.m.,
-11300-block of South Davol on December 10, 2025 at 1:37 p.m.,
-11300-block of South Davol on December 10, 2025 at 3:49 p.m.,
-1600-block of West Monterey on December 18, 2025 at 5:20 p.m.,
-11000-block of South Ashland on December 18, 2025 at 8:17 p.m.

Police are advising sellers to use a CPD lobby for any transactions arranged online.
