A 28-year-old Chicago man faces a number of charges after allegedly shooting a woman and being shot by Chicago police Friday, CPD said Sunday.
Pierre Davis has been charged with attempted first-degree murder, aggravated battery, aggravated assault of a peace officer, aggravated domestic battery, aggravated discharge of a firearm, being a felon possessing a weapon and more.
Davis was arrested just before 8 p.m. Friday in the 8000-block of South Ingleside Avenue in Grand Crossing, after shooting and seriously injuring a 22-year-old woman in the 7900-block of South Ingleside shortly before, police said.
CPD said when police arrived following a domestic disturbance call regarding a male armed with a gun and a knife, Davis tried to get away, and shot at responding officers.
Two officers then shot him, police said.
CPD said he lives in the same block, where the incident occurred.
Davis was seriously injured in the shooting, officials previously said.
The Civilian Office of Police Accountability and CPD's Investigative Response Team are investigating.
The officers involved will be placed on routine administrative duties for a minimum period of 30 days.
