Chicago Glock lawsuit over machine gun conversion moves forward; Mayor Brandon Johnson says switches tied to Chicago crime

The city of Chicago landed a major win in its lawsuit against gunmaker Glock.

A judge has denied Glock's request to throw the case out.

The city says Glock pistols can be too easily turned into illegal machine guns using what is called a "Glock switch."

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson says police have recovered more than 1,300 switches tied to violent crimes.

The case now heads into discovery, with the city seeking penalties and accountability.
