Chicago crime: Man killed in West Side attack in Austin neighborhood in 500-block of Central Avenue, police say

A man was killed amid an attack in Chicago's Austin neighborhood on Monday night, police said.

The crime happened at about 11:16 p.m. in the 500-block of N. Central Avenue, police said.

Police said officers responded to a call of a battery victim.

A man was found with a wound to his neck, and the Chicago Fire Dept. was treating him.

He was rushed to Mt. Sinai hospital where he died, police said.

The man's identity has not been released.

Nobody is in custody.
