Chase ends in presumed deadly crash in Orange
One person was killed and another is under arrest for DUI following a police chase that came to a crashing ending in Orange overnight.
The California Highway Patrol says officers were chasing a car around 3 a.m. but the pursuit did not last long. It's unclear what prompted the pursuit.
The car crashed near La Veta Avenue and Batavia Street. Video from the scene shows a white BMW split in two, with one part wrapped around a pole.
The passenger in that car, only identified as an adult woman, died, according to the Orange Police Department. The driver, a 21-year-old driver, was injured and was arrested on suspicion of driving while drunk.
The deadly crash comes just a few days after another police chase ended in a multi-car crash in Placentia , killing an innocent driver in his 60s.
