Caught on Video: Man attacked by group of young bicyclists in San Francisco after he asks them to slow down

Video posted on the Citizen app on Saturday outside the Maritime Museum in San Francisco shows a man being chased down by a group of young people on bicycles.

San Francisco police said the man had asked the group to slow down, which led to a confrontation.

The confrontation escalated with the suspects attacking the man. The man tried to get away, later falling to the ground. Witnesses stepped in to help, as the group bikes off.

Throughout the afternoon, multiple 911 calls reported groups of bicyclists causing chaos in the area, blocking the road, weaving between cars, and riding toward cars before veering off.

SFPD confirms officers were dispatched to the museum address Saturday afternoon following reports of a robbery. In a statement to ABC7 News, SFPD said "multiple juveniles had battered and robbed a victim."

When officers arrived, they found the victim, an adult male, suffering from injuries. Paramedics treated him at the scene for non-life-threatening wounds. According to police, the man had asked the bicyclists to slow down, which sparked a verbal confrontation that quickly turned physical. One suspect even took the man's property. Bystanders eventually intervened, and the group of bikers took off.

No arrests have been made. Police say the investigation remains open and active.
