Officers search for a gunman who fled during a shootout with another man in Brooklyn Tuesday evening.
The shooting happened at 533 Ocean Ave. in Flatbush shortly after 7:30 p.m.
NYPD officials say officers out on patrol heard gunshots and saw two individuals involved in a shoot out at the location.
Officers exited their vehicle, drew their weapons and fired shots at one of the two individuals that was closest to them, striking a man at least once.
Officers performed CPR on the suspect before he was taken to Kings County Hospital, where he is in stable condition.
The officers were also taken to the hospital for evaluation.
NYPD officials say a 9mm handgun was recovered at the scene.
They say the injured suspect is a 22-year-old Edynesson Bauduy, a two-time convicted felon, currently out on parole until 2030.
He was arrested in2021, at the age of 18 for shooting someone, not far from Tuesday night's shooting.
While that case was pending, he was arrested again for a violent robbery in southern Brooklyn.
Ultimately, he plead guilty two both indictments. He was released from prison just two months ago on June 10, 2025.
The investigation is ongoing.
