A gunman shot and killed a woman while trying to rob her on Chicago's Southwest Side on Saturday night, police said.
Police said the attack happened in the Bridgeport neighborhood's 800-block of West 27th Street around 8:40 p.m.
A 31-year-old woman was outside when a male suspect in a dark-colored sedan shot her, police said. CPD said the suspect, of an unknown age, was with a group of people who were trying to take the victim's belongings.
The victim, shot in the chest, was taken to Stroger Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office identified her as Gabriela Ochoa.

There is no one in custody, and Area One detectives are investigating.
Police did not immediately provide further information about the shooting.
