Police said at one point, the gunman fired at officers, who took cover.

"You don't expect that from a small town like this in Berwyn, and it's kind of scary to just think about it, because it happened right in front of school," said Abraham Pulido, who lives nearby. "It was just cops everywhere and helicopter noises and sirens."

Police said once more support arrived, officers approached the suspect's vehicle and found him dead after he apparently shot himself. Officers also found two other people dead inside the vehicle that he was shooting into.

Investigators called the shooting a domestic-related, isolated incident, adding that there is no ongoing threat to the public. Still, it has sparked sparked fears among neighbors.

"It's scary to think that this is happening a lot lately, and something needs to be done. We don't want no kids to get hurt around this neighborhood," Pulido said.

Chopper 7 was over the scene, where multiple streets were blocked off as police investigated around 5 p.m.

Officials, so far, have not released the identities of the suspect or the two other people killed.

WESTAF Forensic Team is on scene to process evidence, and the Berwyn Police Department Investigative Units are investigating.
