A student, who was in possession of a gun, was arrested Thursday after allegedly making threats against fellow students at a high school in Queens, according to officials.
The incident happened at Benjamin Cardoza High School in Bayside.
Authorities say a 16-year-old boy in the 10thgrade made a threat to "shoot the school up" on Instagram.
FBI spotted the threat and immediately notified the NYPD.
Officers from the 111 Precinct responded to the school around 11:45 a.m.
When NYPD school safety agents identified the student, officials say they removed him from the classroom, brought him to an empty classroom and searched his belongings.
That's when they say they recovered a black semi-automatic .9mm handgun, loaded with 13 rounds in the magazine, inside his bag.
He was arrested and taken into custody.
Officials say he has no criminal history.
