An argument over a parking spot turned violent in Drexel Hill on Wednesday night, ending with one man being bear-sprayed and another shot at.
It happened on the 4000 block of Dayton Road in Drexel Hill.
"It's all over parking. Are you kidding me? Parking," said Upper Darby Police Superintendent Timothy Bernhardt.
Police say 33-year-old Darren Floyd pulled onto the block in his silver Honda Accord and parked around 8:30 p.m.
The victim got into an argument with Floyd over how he was parked.
"Our victim was unhappy with the way the defendant parked his car on his street, that he didn't park close enough to the next car. I guess he felt that there was more room he should've pulled up," said Bernhardt.
Police say the two initially walked away from each other, but Floyd came back. The victim used bear spray on Floyd and investigators say that's when Floyd pulled out a gun and fired three shots as the victim ran into an alley.
"Two knuckleheads. Why in the world do you have bear spray? Why would you use it on someone? And our defendant decides to take out a gun and fire three shots," said Bernhardt.
The bullets missed the victim, but one hit an SUV parked in the alley.
Police say Floyd left the scene, but officers tracked him down after getting his license plate and arrested him.
Neighbors on the block are worried about how a small argument quickly escalated to gun violence.
"Because people are stupid. And they want to fight over stupid stuff and there's nothing you can do about it," said Patricia Richardson.
"It's ridiculous. Doesn't need to happen," said Matt Heffner. "Not a valid reason for gun violence."
Floyd is facing multiple charges, including attempted homicide.
Police say the victim, who used the bear spray, is not being charged.
It is legal to own bear spray in Pennsylvania.
