Barricaded man armed with knife in standoff with Sacramento police
A police standoff was underway Wednesday morning after a man armed with a knife barricaded himself inside a residence in Downtown Sacramento, officials said. Officers with the Sacramento Police Department were dispatched to a disturbance at some time before 5:41 a.m. to an apartment in the 1100 block of 9th Street. After encountering the armed person, a standoff ensued, the police department said.SWAT and Crisis Negotiators are on scene trying to get the person to surrender peacefully. No injuries have been reproted at this time.
