Anthony Brown sentenced to decades in prison for Lombard shooting of police officer, armed robbery of tobacco shop

A man who shot a Lombard police officer will spend decades in prison.

Anthony Brown pleaded guilty earlier this year to the shooting and an armed robbery.

In December 2022, Brown and another man robbed a tobacco shop at gunpoint.

Then, during an encounter with police as they ran, Brown shot at officers .

Police returned fire, killing the other man .

The officer shot by Brown was hit in the leg and survived.

Brown was sentenced to 33 years in prison for the shooting and 21 years for the robbery.
