A 24-year-old pregnant woman was killed and several others were injured in Anaheim following a crash involving a suspected DUI driver, police said.
The crash was reported around 12:09 a.m. Sunday when police said the driver of a grey Lexus ran a red light and collided with a white Toyota Camry. The crash happened on Anaheim Boulevard, near an on-ramp of the 91 Freeway.
A passenger in the front seat of the Toyota - a 24-year-old pregnant woman - died in the crash, according to the Anaheim Police Department. Her name has not been released, but according to a GoFundMe shared with Eyewitness News , the woman was identified as Bianca Esquivel.
The driver of the Toyota and two passengers in the Lexus were taken to a hospital with injuries described as not life-threatening.
Police said the driver of the Lexus, identified as 24-year-old Daniel Ramos, was arrested and booked on suspicion of felony DUI and vehicular manslaughter.
Video shows police evaluating Ramos and ultimately taking him away in handcuffs.
"Due to the victim being pregnant, additional charges may be considered pending the outcome of the investigation," police said.
An investigation is ongoing.
