POTTSTOWN, PA — Outcry over the killing of Renee Nicole Good by an ICE agent in Minnesota has sparked fresh waves of protests against President Trump in Montgomery County.
An "Abolish ICE" demonstration is set for Saturday, Jan. 17 from 10 a.m. to noon 799 N. State Street in Pottstown.
Organizers say they're standing against "harsh enforcement tactics, family separations, detention conditions, and recent high-profile incidents, like the fatal shooting of Renee Good."
"We will continue to protest mass raids, deportations, and conditions in detention centers, advocating for immigrant rights and challenging federal policies, especially those under the Trump administration," Indivisible, the advocacy group behind the demonstration, said in a statement.
It follows a string of protests around the region last weekend, including events in Pottstown and nearby King of Prussia, Upper Perkiomen, and Philadelphia.
Demonstrators are using the same channels and organizing groups as the No Kings protests, held last October and last June.
